CAMBRIDGE BLUES

1997 BABS Quartet Champions. Ian James (Tenor), Bob Croft (Lead), John Palmer (Baritone) and David Farmer (Bass). All tracks are from their CD "Out of the Blue". In October 1996 the quartet, armed with lineup changes and the inevitable "fresh strategy", entered and - againt the odds - won gold at the Irish International Quartet Championships in Cork. Encouraged by this success and desparately trying to remember what they had done right in Cork, the quartet entered the preliminary heats of the BABS national quartet championships in Derby - and won first place. They were on a roll. So it was that they entered the semi-finals of the quartet chmpionships at Brighton in 1997, where they demonstrated supreme artistry and vocal skill and progressed to the finals and won that in fine style.

Tracks are:- Hello Mary Lou, Nevertheless, The Liar Medley, Dear Hearts And Gentle People, Dear Old Girl, I Got Rhythm, Mood Indigo, Mills Brothers Medley, Don't Blame Me, Java Jive, Almost Like Being In Love, Lullaby In Ragtime and Scarborough Fair.
